Anonymous asked: why did you whitewash that indian person so much? can you illustrate a person of color properly pls
So I’m “whitewashing” my ladies again ? I already said I’m doing a series of pinups called Pastel Dolls and I use pastel colors. White women are completely white.
And here is the picture I used as a reference
I’m sorry if I offended any of you, it really wasn’t my intention.
You have not offended me. I do not think one can not “properly” illustrate a POC because there is no set color a person has to be. People of color and people of non-color (white-people) come in a large spectrum of color.
It’s a concerning when it is expressed that a certain “type” of person has to be a certain skin color. To say that a race and/or ethnicity can only come in one set color range is a kind of stereotypeing; is a kind of racism; is a kind of ethnic discrimination.
As a POC I believe that people come in all different shades of skin regardless of race and/or ethnicity. Coloration is based on genetic information that is expressed and the environment one dwells in.
I think people of color should be illustrated in a wide rang of colors not just the colors the stereotype defines.
